At a glance
Prepare a compatible base or enhancement, keep uncured gel off surrounding skin, apply thin layers, and cure each product using its own schedule.
Before color
Complete nail preparation and apply the base or enhancement product according to that product system. Remove dust and surface contamination, then avoid touching the prepared nail. BEMI color gel is applied over a prepared and cured compatible base; it does not replace the base or enhancement system.
Use products only on healthy nails. Keep uncured gel away from the client's skin and your own. If uncured product touches surrounding skin, remove it before curing. Use suitable gloves for professional work and change contaminated disposable gloves rather than reusing them.
Work in controlled layers
Apply a thin, even layer and keep the cuticle and sidewalls clear. Cover the free edge without leaving a thick ridge. Cure each layer before adding the next one. Highly pigmented color should be mixed thoroughly before application; a polish shaker is recommended for those shades.
Keep the lamp clean and place the hand within its intended curing area. Complete the full product-specific cycle. Wattage alone does not establish that a lamp is compatible with the gel.
Color and effect gel schedule
| Product | LED | UV |
|---|---|---|
| Color & effect gelsCreami, Cat Eye, Metal Leaf, Glitter, Shimmer and Quartz | 30–60 seconds | 2 minutes |
| Ultra Shine | 30–60 seconds | 2 minutes |
| Ultra Slick Matte | 1 minute | 2 minutes |
| Ultra MatteUV only | Do not LED cure | 2 minutes |
Use a professional lamp suitable for the product. Wattage alone does not confirm compatibility. Chrome Powder is applied over cured gel; the powder itself is not cured.
- Base and enhancement products from other systems: follow their own product directions.
Common questions
Does a lamp's wattage alone confirm that it will cure BEMI gel?
No. Wattage alone does not establish lamp-to-gel compatibility. Use a suitable professional lamp and follow the schedule for the specific BEMI product.
